Four-stage clearance testing
in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006,
Regulation 17, removal of asbestos material normally requiring
notification to the Health & Safety Executive requires a four-stage
clearance procedure.
Stage one is a preliminary check of site condition and job
completeness; stage two a thorough visual inspection; stage three
clearance air monitoring and stage four final assessment post
enclosure/work area dismantling.
All our operational staff undertake regular quality control,
both internally, and as part of the RICE scheme. RICE
(Regular Interlaboratory Counting Exchange) is an independent
scheme, established in 1984 and administered by the Institute of
Occupational Medicine (IOM), the aim of which is to minimise
inter-laboratory differences in asbestos fibre counting levels and
to provide a formal assessment of laboratory
performance.
